This is another way to prepare the sweet sausage or Longanisa, we called this LongSiLog. It is another Silog recipes we Filipino always eat for breakfast. LongSiLog stands for fried longanisa(sweet sausage), Sinangag(garlic fried rice) and pritong itlog(fried egg). You may remember I have the recipe for Longanisa Rice awhile back, if you want to try it here’s the link.
You can also just replace the garlic fried rice with plain steamed white rice if you prefer it that way. The fried egg can be done to whatever way you want it, scrambled or sunny side up or even poached! To cooked the longanisa or sweet sausage, I always put at least 2 tbsp. of water and the sausage in a pan over low medium heat till all the water is gone. Then, I will add one to two teaspoon of vegetable oil to the pan, and let the sausage cook over low heat.
You can serve it also with sliced fresh tomatoes, or pickled papaya called atsara or have a vinegar dipping sauce on the side. Enjoy and thanks for visiting!
