This is a Bear Christening Cake I made for Andrew Fredrick.
I love doing children’s cake whether it’s a birthday, baptismal baby shower etc. I made this cake for my godson…Andrew Fredrick. The celebrant’s mom, who’s a dear friend, requested a white bear baptismal cake. She showed me the inspiration cake but I did alter it so it would not be an exact copy. The bottom tier is a double chocolate chips cake with caramel filling. The top tier is chocolate marbled cake. I particularly enjoyed doing the bible and the bear’s crown. The alphabet blocks were made from RKTs. You probably noticed I have clouds again in this cake; it is one of my favorite design elements. I just loved making clouds. Did you know I love sketching them too? For the letters, I use letter cutters for them. I also make my own edible glue. I will post the recipe for that next time. If you will ask me the most difficult part of doing this cake were the alphabet blocks, they were time consuming. The moon is fairly easy to do, but if you use fondant and mixed it with tylose to make it firm; you would have to make it ahead of time. Easy fix will be to use a gumpaste instead because it dries up easily.
