Sauteed Green Beans with Shrimp or Ginisang Bitsuelas

  • 1 lb green beans sliced thinly and diagonally
  • 10-12 medium sized shrimps cut into two deveined
  • 5 cloves garlic
  • 1 medium sized tomato
  • 1 medium sized onion
  • 1 tbsp. vegetable oil
  • 1 tsp fish sauce
  • salt to taste
  1. In a pan or wok, put oil. Saute garlic till golden brown.
  2. Add sliced onion and tomato till translucent.
  3. Add the shrimp and stir fry for 2-3 minutes. Add fish sauce.
  4. Add the sliced green beans and stir fry for minutes.
  5. Add water and cover. Simmer for a few minutes till the green beans all cook but still crunchy to your preference.
  6. Season with salt and adjust to your taste.
  7. Transfer to a bowl and enjoy!
Do not overcook your green beans!
You can replace the fish sauce with salt adjust to your liking.
On step number 3, you can add shrimp cube if you want more shrimp flavor easily.
To add extra shrimp flavor naturally, separate the shrimp head from the body by cutting. To prepare the head, carefully remove the shell covering the head, that will reveal the flesh with all the concentrated fats and juices cut that part minus the walking legs of the shrimp. Though it is very small in amount believe me it will give you the intense flavor and will give you that added orange color when sautéing this dish.
