Carne Norte or Corned Beef Hash Recipe

Easy recipe for canned corned beef.
Serves: 2
  • 1 can canned corned beef
  • 1 small onion diced
  • 2-3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 medium potato diced
  • 2 tbsp. vegetable oil
  • salt to taste
  • ¼ cup water
  1. Put oil in a pan over high heat.
  2. Once the oil is hot, add and stir fry the diced potato till it turned golden brown.
  3. Remove the cooked diced potato from the pan and set aside. Save oil.
  4. With the same pan, sauté the garlic and onion till it's fragrant or just golden brown.
  5. Add the corned beef and stir fry for about 2 minutes.
  6. Add the water and let it simmer till water is almost gone. But don't let it go dry.
  7. Then, add the cooked diced potato.
  8. Mix until everything is fully combined.
  9. Season to taste.
  10. Serve with rice or dinner roll.
This recipe can be doubled or tripled.
You can replace the oil with butter if you want it creamier.
You can replace the salt with fish sauce.
I also like this with pan de sal or any bread.
